Operation Primary School

A Project to support the education of primary school pupils in Anglophone Cameroon

Starting Point

The importance of education in Africa cannot be over-emphasised. Unfortunately, many children because of different reasons cannot fulfil the need of education. There are examples where children because of financial reasons drop early out of school. Learning in primary schools in Cameroon and in particularly Anglophone Cameroon is of often characterised by;

• Over-crowded classrooms
• Not enough benches
• Inadequate learning materials
• In adequate writing materials
• Lack of sanitation infrastructures
• Lack of running water

CAAH e. V. Action

As part of the solution, we have decided to provide school needs for some primary schools. We have calculated and came to the conclusion that a school pupil in a school year needs about 10,000 FRS CFA. That is about 15€. We collect money as well as donation in cash to enable us support as many children possible. At the beginning, each CAAH member was asked to donate money or kind to the “Operation Primary School” coffers. Now we would like donors not in our association to help us with this project. The donations will be sent through a member of our association travelling to Cameroon to the different schools. This is to guarantee that the school needs reach the school pupils.

Our action help parents support their children in school who on their own had not the means. Thus, we offer the children an effective means to learn and therefore increase their success rate.
